La Scuola Universalista Spagnola del XVIII secolo: lo stato attuale della bibliografia

Davide Mombelli

Abstract

This Critical note is a detailed list of the most relevant publications and academic activities published for the bicentenary of the death of the great Hispanic-Italian comparatist Juan Andrés (1817-2017). In the last few years, new studies and editions about the works of Andrés have appeared: they open a new interesting perspective of research to re-evaluate the existence and relevance of Spanish Enlightenment, especially in relation to the Spanish Universalist School, a group of authors, mostly Hispanic Jesuits exiled in Italy, sharing the same comparative concept of History and knowledge in general.

Keywords

Bicentenary of Juan Andrés’ death; Spanish Universalist School; Spanish Enlightenment; Comparativism
