Focus and Scope
Diciottesimo Secolo is the Open Access journal of the Italian Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies. IIt is committed to hosting critical debates covering a full range of eighteenth century subjects: from literature to history, from law to religion, from philosophy to science, from anthropology to the fine arts, from linguistics to ethics, from theatre to music. It is also intended as an instrument for providing updated information about current Italian research in eighteenth-century studies. Published annually and double blind peer reviewed, the journal is divided into three sections: “Essays”, “Critical Notes” and “Reviews”.
Contributions in DICIOTTESIMO SECOLO are welcome, journal secures:
- open access to contribution (authors retain copyright)
- peer-review by international experts
- wide dissemination of published contributions both in the national and international area, with the help of specific tools.

Peer Review Process
Submissions are first evaluated by the Editors / Board of Directors and by the members of the Editorial Boards within four weeks. If the manuscript is considered suitable for publication, it is sent to at least two reviewers.
The peer review process is double-blind, whereby both referees and authors are kept anonymous.
Referees are asked to evaluate the manuscript within four weeks. If the reviews are positive, but the manuscript requires to be revised and resubmitted, the author is expected to submit the revised version in four weeks.
Publication decisions by the Editors / Board of Directors are final.
Open Access Policy
Diciottesimo Secolo provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
This journal is published under a Creative Commons Attribution Licence 4.0 (CC-BY).
This license allows anyone to download, reuse, re-print, modify, distribute and/or copy the final version of the papers. The works must be properly attributed to its author(s). It is not necessary to ask further permissions both to author(s) or journal board, although you are kindly requested to inform the Journal Board for every reuse of the papers.
Authors who publish on this journal maintain the copyrights.

(APC) Article Processing Charges
Diciottesimo Secolo does not ask for articles and submissions processing charges APC.
Information for Authors
Before publication, after the acceptance of the manuscript, authors have to sign a Publication Agreement with Studi Slavistici.
